Estonian collations for WIN1252 charset [CORE1026] #1440
Comments
Commented by: @dyemanov Are both cp1252 and cp1257 used in Estonia? And what's the official one (on windows)? |
Commented by: Ain Valtin (ain) Yes, both are used. Official code table is based on ISO 8859-15. On Windows CP 1252 (Western) is recommended and CP 1257 (Baltic) is suggested as second best choice when 1252 is not available. |
Modified by: @dyemanovassignee: Adriano dos Santos Fernandes [ asfernandes ] |
Commented by: @asfernandes Ain, in V2.1 there is already support to use unicode collation with any character set. Unfortunately, there is no snapshot build of it, but if you are interested I can send a build for you test if that fills the need of Estonian people. Are you interested? |
Commented by: Ain Valtin (ain) Adriano, BTW, is this (using unicode collation with any character set) is the future of FB's "foreign language support" so that it doesn't make sense to write special collations for character sets? |
Commented by: @asfernandes > Yes, I could do some tests to see does it work as expected for Estonian locale. Win version vould be preferable. > BTW, is this (using unicode collation with any character set) is the future of FB's "foreign language support" so that it doesn't make sense to write special collations for character sets? |

Please add Estonian collations (both case sensitive and insensitive) for WIN1252 charset. Some information about estonian collation is available at
