Environment:

WinXP, Firebird 2.1 Beta1 using a fixed 2.0.1 Database restored with 2.1 gbak.

Description

« Hide

When executing steps described in misc/upgrade/metadata_charset.txt to fix character sets and metadata extraction problem, descriptions got messed up:

Before: "Descripci?n completa del producto." (2.01 DB)

After: "Descripci???????<long mess stripped>????????"
(2.1 with metadata fixed)

Jira also have problems with charsets. Attached is a "before and after" applying fix script.

Nothing can be done without a complete test-case.

This is a 2.0.1 backup. Restore over 2.1, apply metadata fix scripts, and see, for example, "clientes" fields descriptions.
It?s a ISO8859_1 database.
