I run Firebird on Windows as application using Firebird Guardian. After Explorer crash/restart tray icon of FB Guardian disappears. To reproduce: run Firebird + FB Guardian as application, run i.e. Process Explorer (http://www.microsoft.com/technet/sysinternals/utilities/processexplorer.mspx), restart explorer.exe process. Workaround: register "TaskbarCreated" message, re-create icon when message received: http://msdn2.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb776822.aspx http://www.tek-tips.com/faqs.cfm?fid=5937
