Commented by: @AlexPeshkoff James, what do you mean under password protection here? |
Commented by: James (fireli0000) Hi I can not understand why "What about login/password pair, it makes absolutely no sense for embedded access. " Microsoft ACCESS database has user/password protection. Some other databases also has user/password protection. Thank you very much, James |
Commented by: @AlexPeshkoff It was discussed many times. With _open source_ database any user who has direct access to database file can copy it, bring to other host and open with special firebird version, from which password check is removed (remember, it's open source, therefore building such version is trivial). |

Right now, there is no protection to the embedded database.
A password protection for embedded firebird database is highly needed.
