gbak.exe -b -ig -g -l -t "127.0.0.1:MyDB" c:\backup.fbk -user XYZ -pas SOMEPASS
returns:
gbak: ERROR:bad parameters on attach or create database
gbak:Exiting before completion due to errors

But without, the -ig, the backup is done correctly.
I also try change -ig for -ignore, but gives the same results.

i think was my mistake:
try this:

* Get some firebird 1.5 DB, and migrate directly to firebird 2.5, (this is, use the fdb file on fb 2.5)
* Do some modifications using firebird 2.5 ( <-- my mistake)
* Try to backup with the -ig option

if you do not make changes in the database using fb2.5, the backup is done successfully.

more data:
i must use -FIX_FSS_D & -FIX_FSS_M to restore the backup of the fb 1.5 DB.

Someone enlighten me (a little late) on this question,
I must do a backup & restore cycle before start using the fb 2.5..
there is any other than this manual (http://www.firebirdsql.org/devel/doc/rlsnotes/pdf/Firebird-2.1.3-Installation.pdf) to read ?

I'm very sorry for having wasted your time.
