I am pretty sure that the new msi is not modifying the machine.config files from any .NET installed.
I have already reviewed 2.0, 3.5 and 4.0 for 32bits and none of them include the <configSections> nor <DbProviderFactories> changes.
In matter of fact, I would like to know what should be inserted in order to do it manually.

This is not part of DDEX. The modification is done by installer for provider (because there it belongs).
