.NET Data provider

Exception on NET Core when setting a null value to a command parameter

Created: 24/Aug/17 10:07 AM   Updated: 24/Aug/17 06:04 PM
Component/s: ADO.NET Provider
Affects Version/s: 5.9.1.0
Fix Version/s: None

Environment: Net Core 2

 Description  « Hide
When setting a null to a parameter, provider crashes with "Parameter type is unknown."
As far as I understand the reason for this is an unnecessary preprocessor exclusion at line 412 in FbParameter.cs:

#if !NETSTANDARD1_6
case TypeCode.DBNull:
#endif

TypeCode.DBNull is part of netstandard

It's available only for .NET Standard 2.0. In 1.6 it's missing. And full support for .NET Standard 2.0 is going to happen in next version (5.10 excluded).
