Is this an issue you want solved or something you want to be documented?

Also, please explain what you mean by "doesn't recognize the key". What goes wrong with your Firebird installation because of it? (I also have Win7-64, with the key under HKLM\Software, and no problems.)

With a better problem description we can either move this issue to Firebird Core or document whatever needs to be documented.
