The MS SQL to Firebird migration guide on http://firebirdsql.org/manual/migration-mssql-data-types.html contains an incorrect conversion for the MS SQL datatype FLOAT
The correct conversions are:
ms sql => Firebird
FLOAT => DOUBLE PRECISION
REAL => FLOAT
