Committed basic support to Branch_2_2. I needed to upgrade ant to version 1.9.2 to get it to work (otherwise Java 8 was identified as Java 7).

I chose to commit to Branch_2_2 as I have previously removed the multi-version layout from trunk, and with the wire protocol changes of JDBC197 in progress I don't want to restructure trunk right now.
